Bernadette Drummond graduated in New Zealand and completed graduate training in paediatric dentistry and dental research in the USA and England. Until August 2016 she has been Professor and Specialist in Paediatric Dentistry at the University of Otago in Dunedin New Zealand where she headed the paediatric dentistry programmes including the Clinical Doctorate leading to specialization in Paediatric Dentistry. From September 2016 she will take up the position of Professor of Paediatric Dentistry and Head of the Department of Paediatric Dentistry at the University of Leeds in England. Bernadette has published over 70 papers with a research focus related to improving children’s oral health-related quality of life. She recently co-edited a book devoted to the recognition and management of dental enamel defects. Bernadette was appointed to the IAPD International Board in 2015 and is a Past President of the Australasian Academy of Paediatric Dentistry and the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons.
