Bart Vandenberghe was a finalist for the Research Award of the International Dentomaxillofacial Radiology Association in 2007 (Beijing, China) and won the second price in 2011 (Hiroshima, Japan). He is an author and co-author of numerous international publications and a reviewer for many international journals, as well as an editorial board member of the Journal of Oral & Maxillofacial Research. Since 2012 he has been a member of the central council of the European Academy of Dentomaxillofacial Radiology as the chair of the Scientific Committee. Besides his academic endeavors, he organized the first dental mission for the Tierra Bomba Organization in 2007, where he provided dental care and preventive dental education at a local school on the island of Tierra Bomba, Colombia.
Currently, Mr. Vandenberghe is finalizing a research grant in 3D Cone Beam imaging and 3D follow-up, and until 2015 was working part-time at the Department of Prosthetic Dentistry of the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, teaching and integrating novel techniques in the field of digital dentistry. He also founded Advimago, a clinic and training center for advanced oral imaging, in Brussels.
